Many of the state's tea party groups are collecting petitions to stop the dream act.  I think it will be the first successful all volunteer initiative petition.  The part time legislature came close, but this effort looks even better organized.  There will be easy up shelters and large banners at the signature gathering sites.  The printing, distribution and collection of petitions is better organized than ever.  We have until Jan 5 to collect 700,000 signatures.

californiapensionreform.com is probably the best site to follow the issue.  The Calpers and Calstrs databases show the number of $100,000/yr pensions, and the numbers are increasing sharply.
