Lots of groups! Lots of ideas! Lots of action! ONE great website!
We Promote
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY and the reduction of our nation's debt
ADHERENCE TO THE CONSTITUTION and the principles of our founders
Our History
FEBRUARY 2009 we began with a very small band of volunteers meeting weekly. From that association the April 15th tax day protest at the Sundial Bridge was executed to the thrill and amazement of some 2,500 people. We had no idea where to go from there but knew that our country needed all of us to speak with a united voice. One problem ... how to find all those eager patriots again! A dozen of us continued to meet each week with no visible results. We debated, argued, laughed and wracked our brains as we ranged between goals of rapid growth and expansion versus control and deliberation to find an effective and inexpensive way to move ahead; .
JULY 4th we erected a small "tent city" on the civic center lawn where people would be gathering for the fireworks display. We talked to people, handed out fliers and promoted the upcoming event we had scheduled. It worked! On July 17th we had 600 people at the Redding rodeo grounds in blistering heat to hear constitutional sheriff,Richard Mack. Our next meeting swelled to 60 people ... goodbye pizza parlor and hello Holiday Inn! Within 3 weeks we had over 200 people at the meetings and have never fallen below that number. Meanwhile, this social networking website was created July 22, 2009 and to our surprise grew some 200 members a month.
AUGUST 2009 we began to form the non-profit corporation with a 501(c)(4) status known as Redding Tea Party Patriots in August and lay groundwork for the future by creating a template for success. It has become the umbrella organization and model for other tea party groups forming in Northern CA and Southern OR. We have found a pattern that allows for maximum growth with minimum "management" and works in places with large populations all the way down to towns like Lookout with a population of 105. Although Redding was the pioneer on this model each location has brought improvements as they apply their own dynamic.
JANUARY 2010 we began our affiliate PECAN (Patriots Educating Concerned Americans Now). Click here to read more about PECAN
APRIL 2010 we are back to our original event ... the Tax Day Tea Party!!!! This year it's about community visibility and ease of access for everyone. The Sundial Bridge event is being handled by some of our original members who have gone a difference direction. A vote at our meeting on Monday night revealed 99% of the people want a more visible location and a less formal event. So, we're going to be at the corner of Hilltop and Dana Drive by Sears. People can drive by and honk, come wave a flag or make signs and get their message out. It's about freedom and it doesn't matter where we exercise it. Our fellow citizens need to know that people are doing more than throwing shoes at their TV set every night!
JULY 2010 we set up another tent city on the lawn of the civic under the big oak tree on the Fourth to hand out brochures, visit with other patriots and share some great BBQ while we wait for the fireworks. It was a great day with a stiff breeze and moderate temperatures to be outdone only by the incredible fireworks display. The city outdid themselves this year and the second annual tea party under the oak tree was a success. Mark your calendar for 2011.
Our focus as grassroots citizen lobbyists is to compel our local, state and federal officials to do the business "of the people, for the people and by the people". We stand FOR the principles that founded this great nation and work to provide avenues for average citizens to become active in the previously unknown segment of our political spectrum known as political non-partisan conservatism (aka, the formerly silent majority). We seek to make a lasting difference with this movement for many years. We do not, therefore, focus energy AGAINST personalities, races, religions or specific politicians, etc. We are a non-partisan political group voicing opposition to positions, policies and laws that violate the tenets of limited government, fiscal responsibility and adherence to the constitution.

Help us shake OUR representative government back to life. If we do not act soon we may loose "certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness".

"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." ~Benjamin Franklin
"The will of the people is the only legitimate foundation of any government, and to protect its free expression should be our first object." ~Thomas Jefferson

Sometimes you are encouraged about our country's future when you see something like this. Specifically, there is an annual contest at Texas A&M University calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term. This year's term was "Political Correctness."
The winner wrote:
"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
