CA TPP website: www.teaparty-california.org I have updated the site with lots of news. I have out up the statewide propositions PDF so you may down load and change as you see fit. Please note the recommendations are just my opinion and it may differ from yours so please change it to reflect those changes and add you group info. Thanks I have also added the Candidate Committees Governor Comparison with the caveat that we are not responsible for candidates that have changed or amended their stance on issues. This Comparison was done by several organizers and the info was gleaned by public sources. If you have an issue with any of this please email me at dmwlaw1@cox.net or Mark Meckler at mark.grassroots@gmail.com. Sarah Bond should not be contacted as she did not participate in this project. Thanks
(Confidential) Candidates: Any info or campaign type stuff can be given to Greg Decker or Linda Paine as they are dealing with the candidates. So if you have requests for phone banks and such please contact them. Greg Decker: greg@deckerconstructionco.com Linda Paine: linda@teapartypatriots-scv.com
They have a website now that will include candidates info and comparisons ion a number of races etc. You can register for this group and the webinar at the website: http://www.teapartypatriots-scv.com/TeaPartyPrimaryPower.html
Arizona May 29, 2010 Tempe, AZ event at Diablo Stadium Dallas Tea Party Patriots has put this event together. We would like to support this event for all of CA and see as many Californians as possible at the event. You can support AZ by having an event in your area. Tea Party Patriots national is supporting this event. The consensus is that CA will support this event.
73% of Americans agree with AZ law.
Idea suggested to create a petition on the mandatory use for E-verify in CA. This is the link to the CA Taxpayers initiative: http://www.taxpayerrevolution.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2&Itemid=22
One group is having a vote to create an initiative to have the AZ law in CA. (CA TPP feels worn out by last initiative process, CPC, and think we need to wait on this until after the election.)
Earlier this week two legal issues contesting the AZ law were dropped. I'm still looking for this story and will pass it along when I find it, I saw it on Fox so it has to be out there somewhere..

LA Teacher calls for revolution:
One of our organizers was discussing her experience with going to a Naturalization Ceremony in her town. It was such an incredible experience that we discussed our receiving new citizens at the ceremonies and welcoming to the being American citizens. We could also avail them of info on how to become involved with the parties.
CPC - we would like to see more deliberation and fundraising done before we get involved again. Organizers feel like we started behind the 8 ball with how we needed to market this and how hard it was to relate this to the general public.
June 3, 2010- Congressional District visits. This is right before the primary on June 8, 2010 so this is a good day to remind the Congress what we are talking about. We support this event in whichever means each groups wishes, whether that is visits, rallies, protests, faxing, phoning, let's remind them we are out here right before the primary!
Important News: I received this from an organizer: "Everybody needs to read the paragraph below that was sent to me today. It is from a tea party member. Please send out an email to all your lists, so that this will not happen".
"I just started to work for the elections division at the county. I am noticing something that people should be aware of. We have taken alot of calls and received changes in political party requests. Alot of people are writing to request being changed to the American Independent Party. I wonder if these people are aware that if you chose that party, you can only vote for the American Independent candidate. Very limited. If you just write in Independent Party then you can only chose to vote Democrat or Republican. I was hoping to get the word out that this is the only way you can vote if you chose the American Independent Party. I think alot of people will be mad on voting day when they discover they can't vote for whoever they want, and can only vote for American Independent candidate."
Declined to State- if you have signed up as this on your voter registration or you have members that have please remind them that can ask for a GOP or DEM ballot at the polls in the primary and general elections, but they must ask for them or they will be given a non-partisan ballot.
Cap and Trade Bill - Announced today by Kerry and Lieberman This is a different Bill from the HR 2454 as seen last summer, this is a Senate Bill http://www.cato-at-liberty.org/2010/05/12/kerry-and-lieberman-unveil-their-climate-bill-such-a-deal/ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/daphne-wysham/kerry-lieberman-promote-o_b_574252.html

Pew Summary of S. 1733 Clean Energy and American Power Act http://www.pewclimate.org/short-summary/clean-energy-jobs-american-power-act-chairmans-mark
Strategy here is that we will put together a list of Senators to contact to say NO to this Bill.
Laura Boatright training sessions for American Majority: Looking to get this up and running after the primary.
Parental Rights: The following is a press release from ParentalRights.org, going out tomorrow morning: Resolution Challenges Child Rights Convention FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE // May 12, 2010 // Washington, D.C. - Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) today introduced S.R. 519, a resolution opposing ratification of the United Nations' Convention on the Rights of the Child (Convention, or CRC) in an effort to discourage the State Department and the Obama administration from submitting it to the Senate. Citing dangers posed to American families and to State and federal sovereignty if the treaty were ratified, the measure resolves that "the president should not submit it to the Senate for its advice and consent." In Washington's current political climate, the resolution has little chance of gaining 51 votes for adoption, but its proponents say that is not the point. Since ratification of the Convention requires a 2/3 majority of the Senate, or 67 favorable votes, S.R. 519 needs only 34 cosponsors to prevent that vote and effectively end any chance of ratifying the treaty in the immediate future. Constitutional lawyer Michael Farris, president of ParentalRights.org, agrees. "The Amendment is what we really need, but this resolution is a good temporary fix in the meantime." Action Item Within the next week, we will contact you to start a call blitz to your senators. Don't call yet - we want to give parent-friendly senators a chance to sign on before we bombard their offices. We will let you know when to start that campaign, so be watching your email for that notice. In the meantime, why not visit our new Resolution Status Board to find the text and see who has signed on
