  • simply want to keep abreast of local events, please sign up

The focus of the Minuteman Brigade is to establish communication so that Tea Party members remain appraised of rallies, protests, government meetings, or any other event of importance that might benefit from our presence, even on short notice. Nobody who signs up is making any commitment to show up at any event. The reason for signing up is to stay informed of last minute events so that members who happen to have time and interest in an event that comes up, have the knowledge and the opportunity to participate. If you have any questions, or if you know of something that is coming up, please contact me (Kevin). email: eleazr@yahoo.com; phone: 261-1980

Kevin;
Martha and I will be there with two signs.
Looks like a good day for a rally as the weather is supposed to cooperate.
See you there at 4PM.

Veterans Day Rally: Update

Parking: The Pizza Factory said we could park in their lot, especially over towards Napa. If we get too many, Rays said that we could park a few out beyond the loading bays beyond the store.

Time: Due to the time change, it gets dark shortly after 5:00 which will be an upper limit to our rally time. I’ll probably try and show up around 3:30 or so. Everybody is welcome whenever they have time. If you don’t have a flag or sign, bring yourself. Bodies count too!

Killing Time: Since it gets dark at 5, and the Tea Party meeting is at 6, one thought is that we could Dutch treat at Pizza Factory and kill 45 min. or so for dinner. More ideas are always great!

Veterans Day Rally

I’m going to be on the corner of North Weed Blvd and 97 from about 4-5:30 on Thursday. Anybody who wants to join me and bring a flag and maybe a sign thanking vets, is invited to do so.

This protest is really far a field and last minute, so I'm not sending it as an 'alert', but here is the e-mail that was forwarded to me by Marcia Armstrong:

Subject: protest rally

To all,

There is a protest rally happening on Thursday morning at OIT. The Klamath Basin Coordinating Council is meeting there from 9:00 to 5:00. ( this is the unelected governing body of the KBRA, if it actually is legislated) We will meet at 7:30 AM at Rabe Consulting, 423 Commercial street. Bring your own signs or we will finish making more that morning. We need to be in place no later than 8:30, at OIT. The rally will take place next to the Student Union. We need a huge showing at this event!! Pass the word to everyone you know. The rally will only last about an hour, so everyone can squeeze an hour out of their schedule. This is probably the only opportunity we will have for a public demonstration against DAM REMOVAL and the KBRA, so do not let us down.
OIT is not requiring rally participants to get a parking permit for our short rally. If you plan to stay later, then get a free permit.

Ok, we'll go that rout. I was wondering about doing too many anyway.

I floated a 9-11 idea to the steering committee yesterday and we're going to do one, probably under "special events." Anybody coming to our meeting on Th. can put in their two bits.

I posted here before the 9-11 idea occurred to me and I was tired of having significant events pass by without me having time to organize something. Though that shouldn't be a problem now that I'm not working anymore. (Boy, there's a mixed bag of tricks - money is necessary, but I love having time to do Tea Party things.)

Why not have a Rally on 9-11 in Remembrance of the date? Opposition to the Mosque could also be addressed. Having a Rally just for rally sakes diminishes it's impact. We don't want to be thought of as those "crazies on the corner"--but if there a a prominent issue--that's a GREAT OPPORTUNITY!

It's past time for a rally. What does everybody think of one on Saturday (9/4) afternoon in support of Arizona or something?

Fraternal greetings from Sherwood Forest in Chico to the Minuteman Brigade of Mr. Shasta! Due to the geographical spread between us, I will not be with you in body but in spirit only. You guys have a good man to head up your group in Kevin. He's feisty and knows how to handle matters requiring group unity. Agree on some issues. Disagree on others. Fruit of the Spirit. Resting with calm assurance on the firm foundation of our conservative core values. Joy in the journey to all of you!
