Trinity County Distric Attorney and Sheriffs department failure to enforce the law

I  haven't been on this site for awhile and I know when I was that not everyone was always happy with ,or interested in my opinion, but I did enjoy the feeling of being part of something good that this site gave me.

I am at my witts end and I am asking for some advice or some help,I respect the members of this site  because of the care and compassion they have for our county's and our country ..

About two weeks ago someone punched in my windshield  and then came to my drivers door and opened the door and punched me in the face and then was on top of me beating me up inside my vehicle .There were two other people standing like 5 feet away when he did this .

When I had a chance to get away I drove straight to the sheriffs department and officer Potts came out and took pictures of the broken windshield and of my face that had already started to swell. And .I made the report , the next day I called weaverville glass and son and  had to pay $228.00 for a new windshield because my insurance was only basic coverage and didn't cover that ...It has been 2 or 3 weeks and there has been no arrest and no charges pressed they wont do anything I keep calling olny to be treated rude and disrespectfully as if I am causing a problem or bothering them trying to ask why they wont do anything ,

The person who did this is a felon and was in prison for previously beating his wife,Also 2 months ago this same person came to my home and broke my bathroom window out and broke my back door he came into my home and pushed me down and punched me in the head 8 times ,the elderly man who is my room mate saw and heard  the whole attack ,I called the police then too and made a report and no charges were pressed then and no arrest was made ,that person now feels that they can do whatever they want with no consequences and I do not feel safe,I feel so let down by the sheriffs office and the da`s office ,I do not understand how they can do nothing ,this man hurt me very bad and he broke out my windshield ,that is really scarey.I have been calling everywhere i can think of to get help ,,I just don't know what to do..thank you
